Bob Seymour planned a modest summer study with four teenage boys to give them better grounding in Scripture. God had a different plan. The four invited friends, the group grew, and when summer ended — Bible Study didn't.

The group caught a vision for reaching friends who were skeptical, unsure, or even hostile to religion. With that new outward focus, "Bible Study" became Bible Study Two.

Young men within the group were selected and trained to serve as small group leaders — the beginning of BibleStudyTwo's peer leadership model. These young men taught 100+ each week.

Leveraging the momentum of "The Dudes" experience, three Christian women stepped forward to launch a ministry for girls. In the fall of 2014, Bible Study Girls (BSG) began — meeting weekly in a house owned by one of its founders.

A large influx of middle schoolers led to dedicating a separate Tuesday afternoon program just for middle school boys.

BibleStudyTwo acquired the old Sevier Terrace Recreation Center property in central Kingsport — a major milestone toward organizational sustainability. The pool and old structures were demolished and the property was cleared.

Billy Crawford, aka "Peaches", for his love of the fruit, joined us as Assistant Director. Billy served in this position until September 2021, when he and his family relocated to Michigan.

Charity Chapel Baptist Church donated their Stage Road property just outside Kingsport to BibleStudyTwo. The site - Charity Woods - became home to recreation, special events, and the BSG program.

Drew Wilson, USMC Veteran, joined as Assistant Director. During his tenure Bible Study Extreme (BSX), a workout ministry run in partnership with the Great Body Company, was restarted and an increase of outdoor adventures were had. Additionally, Drew was instrumental in helping expand our partnerships with area Churches. He has moved to North Carolina with his family.

The decision was made to consolidate on Charity Woods as the permanent home of BibleStudyTwo. Renovation of the buildings there began.

Cole Maupin — Alumni of Bible Study Two — joined as Associate Director. In October, all BibleStudyTwo activities officially moved to Charity Woods, the ministry's permanent home.

Bible Study Two has now served over 2,000 students and is experiencing rapid regional growth. The Lord continues to surprise us as demand outpaces our current capacity, creating a need to expand staff and volunteers. We are prayerfully assessing next steps and actively seeking strategic partners and faithful donors to help steward this growth.
